THE ARTIST

Lisete is a talented sculptor with a Fine Arts degree in stone and metal from Portugal. At the start of her career, her sculptures were large scale, often larger than life size. Upon her move to BC, she embarked on a different phase in her art-making, scaling down her skills and cutting and carving gemstones for jewellery. She then added silversmithing and goldsmithing skills to her repertoire, apprenticing for two years with a Swiss-trained goldsmith to further refine her craft. 

Throughout these years of growth, however, her focus has remained on the three-dimensional possibilities of her art form. Her pieces are thus very distinctive even though each one is a unique work. Her fire for innovation leads her to push the boundaries of jewellery and expand its three-dimensional possibilities. The result is highly personal wearable art.
